13th 1873: Murphy and Fritz sell Fort Stanton Sutler’s store to L. Edwin Dudley, an Indian Superintendent
14th 1879: Frank Coe brought into Mesilla in shackles for a murder trial for the killing of Buckshot Roberts. Coe was acquitted.
15th, 1837: Alexander McSween born
17th 1878, A shootout in the darkness of night occurred between the Regulators and members of George Peppins posse at San Patricio. A horse was killed.
18th 1878: Act of Congress, passed a law (Posse Comitatus Act) preventing military aid in private affairs.
23rd 1876: Jessie Evans acquitted for the murder of Quirino Fletcher
23rd 1878: Dolan men attend Dr. Ealy’s sabbath school at Alex McSween’s home.
23rd 1878: Jessie Evans cleared in Mesilla court for stealing government mules. 
26th 1871: Jessie Evans along with his immediate family and John J. Allen are arrested at Topeka, Kansas for passing counterfeit money. They were fined $500.00
26th 1874: Emil Fritz died in Germany 
26th 1903. John Copeland died at age 62 about 15 miles east of Copeland’s canyon. Cause of death: unknown
27th 1879: James Dolan makes $3,000 dollar bail from Mesilla jail when jailed for the murder of Huston Chapman
29th 1879: Juan Patron seeks asylum at Fort Stanton after threatened with death from sheriff George Peppin

14th 1854: Dave Rudabaugh was born in Fulton, Illinois.
14th 1881: Billy the Kid is allegedly shot and killed in the dark.  Behind the gun butt was Pat Garrett.
15th 1873: James Dolan insures his life with a $10,000 life insurance policy through the Missouri Valley life insurance company
15th 1878: Daniel Duff is poisoned resulting in his death at Lincoln, NM
15th 1878, The Regulators took positions in Lincoln, starting the 5-day battle.
17th 1878: Charlie Crawford is killed in Lincoln during the 5-day battle.
19th 1877: Captain Purington suggests to officials to cancel Indian reservations in the area to plunder for gold, silver and other mineral mining
19th 1878: Robert Beckwith was killed in Lincoln during the 5 day battle.
19th 1878: The Mcsween home was lit on fire, forcing its occupants to flee into a hail of bullets. Killed were Alexander Mcsween, Harvey Morris, Francisco Zamora and Vincente Romero. Yginio Salazar was wounded and played dead. This Ended the 5-day battle.
20th 1877: The Evans gang steals horses from Fort Stanton
21st 1837: Captain Purington born at Ohio
24th 1845: Thomas “Buck” Powell is born in Mississippi
25th 1861: The democrat’s confederate army occupies Mesilla
25th 1929: Doc Scurlock died in Eastland, Texas at age 80.

15th 1875: after a dispute, John Riley shot Juan Patron in the back. Patron survived the assault but left his leg in a crippled state, causing a limp walk.
16th 1931: Frank Coe died at age 79 at Glencoe, NM.
