A quick rundown on Alex, by J. Young
Alex McSween, affectionately known as Mac, lived a multifaceted life that began in Canada in the mid-1800s. He eventually immigrated to the United States where he pursued extensive training as both a lawyer and a messenger of the word of God. After marrying in Kansas, he and his wife ventured to New Mexico. Upon discovering the fertile plains of Lincoln, McSween poured himself into his legal and community-building practices. While his talents were undeniable, the eruption of violence and corruption from influential businessmen James Dolan and Lawrence G. Murphy brought McSween face-to-face with danger at every turn. After experiencing a series of terrifying confrontations and deadly acts, including the murder of colleague John Tunstall, McSween heroically persevered, until his fateful death in Lincoln. His courageous efforts were commemorated by the local community as the end of a volatile era in Lincoln’s history.
